Thanks, SSNUFFY....I will check it out. I have heard something to that effect a while ago and the fact that many insurance companies will not cover that "simple test" you mentioned. It would seem that AMA would do well to lobby in the best interest of their patients rather than the other way around. Smells like the current chaotic economic/bail out situation these days....

ladies, there is a test thats been proven 95% effective in detecting cancers long before it gets to the lump stage. it was perfected in 1996 and the information is listed on my blog. I had bladder cancer and opted out of conventional treatment 7 yrs ago. i've taken the test. I know the Mamograms are uncomfotable as my wife went thru many and is now terminal. there is NO need to fear this thing, A simple blood test will tell yu weather there is somthing "bugging your Immune System. conventional Docs wont give the test, you'll have to find a Homeopath in your area. check this out for your own sake. write or E-mail if yu need more info thnx Al www.cancer-isnt-scary.blogspot.com

Right now there is no way to prevent breast cancer, but early detection gives breast cancer patients the best chance for survival. <a href="http://herbalbeauty.blogtells.com/2008/11/08/herbal-formula-for-killing-the-cold/" rel="nofollow">Tea</a>

I agree, Ann_C. Do it for yourself and family, Karen.

Don't let the debt control your health.

I have had my gyn and mammogram exams checked every year.

Do it, Karen.

Karen, please find some way to get this mammogram done, especially if you're over 40.

I understand where you're coming from, there was a situation we were without health insurance for a time because we couldn't afford it, but I had an emergency operation which we ended up paying via installments with interest for three years. Because my husband insisted just get your gyn exam done, we'll worry about the money later, I went to my gyn, paying the full price of the dr's visit (groan, more debt), I found I had a health issue that had to be treated via surgery like yesterday because I'd put off going to the dr as we didn't have the money then.

As it was, the surgery saved my life. If I had gone to the doctor on a regular basis (and yes, accrued debt with dr visit bills), the condition I had could have been caught earlier and hence a less aggressive and less expensive treatment could have been employed. I had a close call and had to learn the hard way.

You're taking care of your hubby and kids, how about yourself? Believe me, debt is
just a money issue, it's all relative. But when it comes to your life, please don't take the chances.
