¡Yo No Quiero! Taco Bell!….iNo Mas! American Dream!
I guess Taco Bell got tired of Dinky and Gidget and was hoping to get 50 Cent to change his name to 79 Cent or some Cent of his choice in order to promote Taco Bell. 50 cent was pissed that Taco Bell would have the cojones to ask him something like that. And to that, he says ¡NO quiere Taco Bell! Yikes! What were they thinking??? 50 cent ain’t no Chihuahua! He da man!

Somewhere in Ohio, in a town named Anna, where a Honda Plant is located. A particular bar in Anna has it’s people saying that America should not be bailing out the Auto Plant. The reason being, appears to be that the plant employees are doing ok. Since the bar is making money off these plant employees could only mean one of two things. One being, they have money. Two being, they’re drowning out their worries at a bar. But, this bar owner says we should not be bailing em out. I live near an Auto plant and my neighbors says times are tough. They’re closing several lines. There might not be jobs for many. The plant might have to close cuz no one is buying vehicles in these times. Hmm…I don’t know what to believe. But, one thing for sure, I wish the bars around Wall Street would tell us exactly what we should be doing. Imagine if a bartender that worked in Wall Street telling us that he overheard something and that because Wall Street F**Ked up, we shouldn’t be bailing them out. 700 billions dollars later. See any difference? Perhaps them New Yorkers are just minding their own business whereas Anna, Ohioans are making it their business!

If anything, Americans should not despair with the economy as it is. America is no longer considered a place where one can achieve the “American Dream.” Studies have shown that at the end of 2007, more Mexicans have gone back home than Mexicans entering USA. They’re guessing the continued exodus will continue into 2008 and beyond. What this might mean for many Americans is that there should be jobs available if they lose theirs. Would you flip burgers? Clean houses? or even work in strawberry fields if you had to? When it comes to putting food on the table for your family, one sometimes should take what they can. After all, they don’t have anywhere to go, and unlike the Mexicans, they can’t go home. They’re home. What this also means is that Americans have lost sight of what it means to work and achieve the American dream. Greed seems to have taken over and it appears that greed only resulted in one good thing for the Americans, it made the illegal’s run back home. But, it also created a lot of spoiled workers who thinks it would be beneath themselves to get a job flippin burgers. Great Job, America!

Do you really think the recession in the economy make many Mexicans to go back to Mexico?
There are many good people down there who try to work very hard to make their life easier and successful. However, recession could have control them to go back where they belong…..I don’t know….I cannot give you and others an answer.
Joe the Plumber is one of the luckiest people to become a 15-minutes fame.

Interesting article.
What of unions? One could argue that union employees are “spoiled” and that many American jobs go overseas because of high-priced demands made by unions.
I dunno but I’m gonna wonder about that the next time a “customer service” person from India tries to help with my utilities bill.
Well, in my neighborhood I know that several neighbors have stopped their cleaning maid services, among other expenses they have cut down on. But damn if they’ll let go their mow-blow-go gardeners yet.
I have yet to have a quiet Thursday, when these guys show up at 7 am to mow their clients’ yards and blow the leaves around, so that the clippings will be collected by the trash service next morning. Some people think it’s the American dream to have other people clean their houses and mow their yards, geez.
And no, I don’t hire out the maid and gardener services. That’s all DIY at my house, LOL. Hubby and I are also doing our own remodeling on our fixer-upper to save money on contractor costs. True bootstrappers, yup.
Paotie,
That’s very true. You wonder why American companies are outsourcing in the first place.
You should see/hear me when I’m on the phone trying to resolve my cable bill. I couldn’t even understand this person from India! My son had to come to my rescue and he barely got through it all. Once, I was so pissed, (and, it is hard to get me pissed.)I nicely asked for an “American Accent speaking person.”
Of course, there wasn’t anybody there that was American.
Americans are spoiled and the Unions DO cater to their needs.
Ann_C,
I never understand why we need them blowers! On any windy day I see people using their blowers, I’m thinking WTF?! What’s wrong with using a rake?
Around here, people do it themselves too. That’s smart!
Yeah, I know what you mean about frustration over the phone when you get some foreigner speaking thick/ lilted English. Had a prob several months ago with the security program on my computer, and lo, and behold, I got referred to their tech service on the phone way over in India.
Unfortunately hubby was at work, so I had to deal with this guy and ended up asking him to please say, “M as in Monday, S as in Saturday…” you get the picture, when I had to type in instructions at the \: config screen.
As it was, the guy had to do remote control of my computer (yikes!)and he somehow screwed around with the registry. Ended up with the security prob resolved, but had another bug to deal with for 6 months.
Sigh, to make a long story short, I finally had to scrap the security program (it kept bugging anyway) and do a total system restore of my computer. Put on a different security program recommended by gamers and also got around to backing up my C: drive on another external drive. I’ve done 3 system restores in the last two years and don’t wanna have to do that all over again. *roll of eyes*

Leaf blowers were once proposed to be banished within the Phoenix city limits when I lived there.
There was some argument about polluting the air.
Of course, with a weak argument like that, the proposal was eventually blown away like a withered and dithered yellow leaf.
Crazy, huh?
Paotie, ha! Yeah, crazy. Actually, It’s a first for me, I have never seen anyone in my area bringing up that argument. We’ve had crazy arguments not related to blowers….
Ann_C, Wow, I don’t think I’d let anyone remotely fix my computer!
See, I found out over the years these guys don’t know shit, themselves. They just look at this manual in front of them that tells them how to troubleshoot. If it’s a software that caused problems in the first place, sometimes it’s wise to uninstall it. Hey, if you DIY around the house, you should start DIY with your computer too.
Due to the taxes….that was where many congress people were forced to avoid the illegal maid cleaners and landscapers who useed to work for them….
It happened in the past. It’s all sh*tty happening in the world.
Duh. They are really good and hard working people.
Enjoyed to watch the football game last night. Fell asleep during the 4th quarter at the Texas Tech – Okla game…..
During the two-weeks saga as of last night, on these 5 top ranked teams should be interesting to watch. It definitely will put BCS into very difficult decisions.
That’s very rare occasion. The three top-ranked teams from the Big 12 are really close.
DIY at the computer often takes hours, time I don’t have to waste. That’s the reason I bought an external drive with my C:drive backed up on it. The external drive itself has software that also does periodic backups, like when you add new software or new files. It’ll save me time whenever I have to roll back to kill a bug in the computer.
Yup, WG, it will be a close call for the rankings. I think Texas, TexasTech and Okla are all in the top 3 of the Big 12 so far. Next week may scramble the rankings yet again.
WG, Forgot about that one, yeah, they didn’t want to pay employment taxes. Tried to get away with cheap labor, no better than outsourcing!
Ann_C, I get you. It does take hours at times!
