Thanksgiving Ain’t Over till I say it’s over
I hope you all had a grrreat turkey day. I did. I was able to spend time with family and friends. Which was AWESOME. And!!! All day I kept getting funny text messages and emails from friends as it relates to Turkey Day! First time in my life, I’ve played beer pong, we’re all taking a break and I thought to just post this one from one of many emails I got which I wanted to share with ya all…for some reason, it kind of reminded me of the latest happenings in the deaf blogosphere! Haha! yeah! Let’s put the bad guy in a freezer! haha!
Here goes:
A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird’s mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird’s attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to “clean up” the bird’s vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he’d hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John’s outstretched arms and said, “I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I’m sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior.” John was stunned at the change in the bird’s attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, “May I ask what the turkey did”?

So, you got a new laptop? MAC or Window Vista? I’m looking to get a new one soon too. I hate Black Fridays, too bad for me, I guess.
I got Dell that includes Pentium Dual-Core Inside which is made by Intel and Windows Vista. Much faster than the old one. I gave the old laptop to my 12 year old daughter. She got new 8G I-Pod. She gave the old 2G I-Pod to her seven year old sister. Thanks to the black friday!
Lucky dogs, huh? They’re really new generations, not like our time, pfft!
Next project for my husband is to get a MAC book.
There are too many computers around the house. We have the wired house.

Cool! I’m getting a new laptop at work. Not mine to keep, tho. But, I am thinking about getting a MAC cuz everyone keeps saying it is better. I have had Dell and HP for a long time, too. And, even my old one works well. I started out with IBM.

This Xmas we’re holding off electronic gadgets as our living room remodeling project snowballs. Snowballing expenses, that is. We uncovered and pulled out the ol’carpet that was in the living room way since before we bought our house this weekend, and yes, indeedy, the wood floor will have to be replaced in some spots, about one-third of the entire floor.
So, we’re stickin’ with this one trusty 500 GB dual-core HP stand-alone for awhile. Would love to have a laptop to go anywhere, but the budget’s not there for that yet. And the living room project won’t be done by Xmas, as we’d hoped, because of the floor prob’s. *sigh*
WG, I’d love to see a game ‘tween the Sooners and the ‘Gators. They have opposite strategies, OU has great offense, a QB with a golden arm, and the ‘Gators have a great defense that can cover holes. That’d make for an exciting game with that yin/yang combo. All that depends on OU beating Mo’ and Gators beating the ‘Bama Tide. A strong likelihood is ‘Bama vs. Sooners though. But I don’t wanna get ahead of myself…one game at a time.
Would love to see the red game. I wanna see these two *red* teams to get the colorblind. That’ll make the fans and teams to get muddled!
Nice to know that you and hubby are the handy couple to work on the living room. Save some bucks! Smart move. Wood floors is the one of the toughest projects in house work….all you have is to cut the square and put the patch on them. I know it’s a pain to hear the squeaky stuff!
All we need is to get the LCD-TV for my VP.
Anyway, I visited Deaf Pundit’s blog…..duh! Mike aka DRMZZ is *willing* to say that he *partly* apologized to DP for making a mess at the first place. It was not enough as we expected. Your’e right, Candy.

Shawn was already upset at Karen’s misunderstanding her words in MZ’s blog long before drmzz made his move to “protect” her.
Does drmzz realize that Karen has already made up with Shawn for misunderstanding what Shawn had originally said in MZ’s blog or what?
Protecting somebody by putting down others is this “fair back” business that one so commonly sees on DVTV over and over and sometimes on DR. Same thing is going on in DP’s vlog and blog here on DR.
The irony of it all is that so few of the v/bloggers understand what had started the mess to begin with. That’s what makes the whole thing stranger yet. I’m sure DP is just shaking her head in exasperation, like…duh! and having to explain over and over. Some ppl still don’t get what DP was trying to illustrate. Couldn’t believe how the dialogue degenerated into personal attacks over one misunderstanding after another. Her blog article “When I Say…” is a classic on how misunderstandings snowball in the online deaf community.

If you have not gotten snow, you’re lucky or maybe not. Depends on how much you LOVE snow. LOL I got lots. I love the way it looks outside, even went outside to shovel!! What fun! But when snow lingers and it gets freezing cold, that is when I’m sooooooo looking forward to summer!!!
Anyway, yeah, partly sorry sounds lame. In any case, I’m just glad Shawn is ok.
Have you noticed that DVTV people are not used to not having their comments published and the fact that bloggers can choose to moderate their comments. I do not think that this feature is even in DVTV at all?! DVTV and DR is two whole separate world. There’s a whole different spectrum of people in DVTV. No question about it. I watched Teri’s video this morning about Zen story of the Thief. Kind of interesting.
This is one reason why I do not think I will EVER vlog on DVTV. In the future I might do a vlog on my blog. I tried checking to see if I can add video comments here but…nada. I have wordpress.com and they’re very limited with plugins. I kind of miss blogono. Soon I will have my own host which will enable me to do more things. We’ll see how things goes.
