‘Twas the days before Christmas….

2008 December 22

‘Twas the days before Christmas, all’s calm.  ‘Tis probably the whitest Christmas I’ve had in a long time.  I look forward to spending it with my family, and most of all, I look forward to seeing the reaction from my dogs and cats when they get a present from me. (My kid is going to literally kill me when she reads this.  ;)   I do love my kids, yet…)  [Another thing to blog about one day] I just get a kick out of seeing how my pets get so much joy over such simple presents.  This post is a present to all of my readers.   “Merry Christmas!” – “Happy Hanukkah! – “Happy Kwanzaa!” – “Feliz Navidad!” – “Buon Natale!” – “Happy Holidays!”

Here is a story, “Grandpa’s Story”, author unknown.

Grandpa decided that shopping for Christmas presents had become too difficult. All his grandchildren had everything they needed, so he decided to send them each a cheque.

On each card he wrote:

‘Happy Christmas, Grandpa’

P.S. ‘Buy your own present!’

While Grandpa enjoyed he family festivities, he thought that his grandchildren were just slightly distant.  It preyed on his mind into the year.  Then one day he was sorting out his study and under a pile of magazines, he found a little pile of cheques for his grandchildren.  He had completely forgotten to put them in with the Christmas cards.

Christmas Caper -

Katrina lost her handbag in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping in Michigan Avenue, Chicago.

A small boy found it and he returned to her. Looking in her purse, Katrina reasoned, ‘Hmmm…. that’s strange.  When I lost my bag there was a 20 dollar bill in it. Now there are four 5 dollar bills.’

The boy quickly replied with a charming smile and in a Chicago accent, ‘Dat’s right, ma’am. Da last time I found a lady’s purse, she don’t have no change for a reward.’

I’d suggest you to read Ben Vess’ recent blog. It was a good discussion. Love his xmas blog-decoration.

I’m not supposed to make a comment during the xmas eve. I know that I get a black coal.
