Meu Twilight

Tall trees and evergreen shooting up high, surrounding a Gothic castle. The sky was overcast, the sun had just went down, yet, the moon shone so bright. I’m standing in a clearing, the castle was to the right of where I stood, surrounded by the trees. I see a boy about my age. He and I meet. We talk, we laugh and play. And, it was love. Then the next thing I knew, he tells me he’s a vampire and I tell him that I don’t care. The longings so intense, yearnings to just be with him.

Well, that was a dream I had when I was a kid. Speaking of dreams, currently, I rarely dream which translates into a fact that I just don’t remember my dreams these days. I probably have mentioned every now and then that I was always boy crazy. So, it would be typical that I would have dreamed of nothing but boys back then. I don’t know if I still do, I don’t remember my dreams.

Anyhow, I never forgot that dream. Somehow, it kind of tells me at the time, that my soul mate is out there somewhere, someone dark and serious, yet funny and compassionate. I don’t know why the vampire. But, I guess it was “every little girl’s dream” Maybe not “every” little girls out there do, but…..with Twilight being a popular up coming sequel among little girls, teens and even beyond, that’s a lot of hungry girls of all ages, out there.

Anyhow, I got to watch Twilight. And, I really liked the movie a lot. I know exactly what she’s feeling. I’ve felt that in my dreams. How weird is that??
Vampires, for some reason, are intriguing. See, vampires supposedly have lived for eons. They came from an era where chivalry rules. Usually male vampires have this virtue about them that speaks of honor and courtly love. Can you say dreamy? Perhaps guys should take note of that, if they really want to lure their dream girl to their arms.
I tend to like to watch the movie first before reading the book since usually the movie doesn’t show everything that’s in the book, as we all know. Yet, there have been times where I tend to read the book first. Since there’s a sequel to Twilight out there, I’m going to put John Grisham aside for a bit and start reading Twilight and beyond.

My daughter is a huge fan of the twilight. She read all books and movie. She is crazy about the vampire, Robert Patterson. I did not realize that he was acting in the Harry Potter movie! Hummm….
I felt so strange that not many young kids are not idolized on Robert until he became the leading actor in Twilight.
I find it interesting about the leading actors who affect on young kids for a pretty simple.
This weekend I will watch Twilight with my daughter in the basement. We have the media room. A 105 inches screen. Pretty cool!
Hi, I did see the movie and it brought back the memories of my teenage yearnings for “everlasting love”. I was very into Anne Rice’s books (Interview with the Vampire, etc., which exploded my early teenaged-brain… wow, the explicit details, lust, love in hard edge way, etc.)
My son also read ALL Twilight books and he loved them. He is looking forward to the 2nd movie… one thing he does not understand… why did the actor and actress “pant” in the movie? Ha ha…
WG, yeah, my kid tells me Robert played a character on Harry Potter and his character died in the movie. My niece is crazy about Twilight. Ahh, I wonder if we’ll see many younger girls avoid the sun this summer so that they’ll have white skin and red lips?
Karen, haha! Did you explain why they panted? LOL Yeah, I read Anne Rice’s books too, and I liked it. I think Twilight will be better (I have not bought the book yet!) I did liked the movie “Interview with the Vampire” only cuz Brad Pitt was in it. Ahh, dreamy….
All of my students are Twilight crazy…they are so funny- they call Breaking Dawn, Breaking Down- I had to translate the series for them:)) Anyway, I have always had a thing for vampires- they’re hot. Hugs to you…
Jodi – I’m impressed, you’re translating it for your students! Not surprised, though. Considering how you go to such lengths with with stuffs you’re passionate for.
Last night I watched Twilight, the movie! When the edited names came up at the end, I was so mad! I plan to read the first book this Summer when school comes out. We’ll go to the pool a lot. (Kids will attend more Summer camps and activities.)
New Moon, the movie will come out in Nov 2009. The vampire, Robert Patterson is so hot!
My oldest daughter has 4 books. The new book, Midnight Sun comes out indefinitely.
So, I haven’t read Twilight..
Am I missing out??
mwahs
You just have been vamp’ed!
Hang in there, Candy, I’m sure you’ll find your dream guy… It is fate and fate usually doesn’t go wrong, right?
I know you were speaking for the women, but I liked the women in the movie!
Sorry, but the ladies in the movie were intruding too. Back to fate, in the movie it happened again. First time they see each other, boom! Love! Age, race, sex – who cares, lighting still strikes! Can’t wait for the second movie! In the meantime, I have to read the books. My son has already read them, twice.
Ben — Big time!! Twilight is an awesome movie! Now, go rent it and fall in love with it!
Ben, missing out? Big time! At least see the movie, you’ll love it. I actually think you’d fit in with these Twilight characters.
Brian, haha. You’re talking about the ladies, eh? Bella? Rosalie? Alice? whoo~
I just got done with the book and was about to run out and buy New Moon. My husband had to convince me to wait till today. I bought the latest paperback edition which comes with one chapter of New Moon at the end. And, damn! It was awful, I wanted to read the rest!
Ben would be fit in as Jacob Black! He’s cute with black and long hair. Perfeccionar!
Be careful ’cause he’s transformed into wolf that Edward Cullen hates so much!
haha WG, I’m actually reading New Moon right now, I kind of suspected that Jacob would eventually be a wolf (I’m at the part where they’re trying out these bikes.) I have heard spoilers about the fourth book that has me disbelieving.
My son is kind enough to check The Twilight novel out from his middle school’s library for me to read ;o) So I will start reading it this evening, at the local high school where my son has his swimming thingy…
ahhhh!
see for yourself.

See Jacob Black the real life man! he’s so hot, hot, hot! Whooo!
Karen, how’s the book coming along? I’m into the third series now.
WG, yeaaah…Jacob Black is CUTE! I’m torn between Edward Cullen and Jacob Black and I do wonder where Bella will end up in the end. Jacob Black is the kind of guy I tend to fall for. Ouch. It hurts!
WITH the long hair!
Now, I’m lost.
Maybe it’s time for me to pick up the first book of the series…My household has two copies
uhmmmmmmm…*sighs*
Ah! Candy! I found your blog! Pah!
My daughter has the book series and the dvd movie. However, she says that the movie is not good. Thats probably because when you love a book, you never really like the movie made from the book. Harry Potter movies just don’t do the books justice. Can’t wait to go home and start the second book!
Sheri,
Glad you found my blog.
I just went in and I think I fixed the comment feed, you should be able to get it going! I saw the movie first and I loved it but I love the book MORE! It has so much more stuffs that makes more sense and it’s too bad that the movie didn’t follow the book as much as it did.
I don’t know if you have ever read “The Stand” by Stephen King, but I read the book first before seeing the movie and ohh, I loved that book. Anything that makes my hair stands up, captivates me. And, the movie was as close as it got with the book, at the time, I read somewhere that SK, himself wanted the movie to be as close as it was with the book and he had a lot of say in how the movie was made. Wished it was that way with Twilight. You’ll like New Moon, it brings more complexity to Bella’s life. I’m almost done with Eclipse and I’m still restless.
Breaking Dawn better have me sated when I’m done.
Have fun in LA!
I did finish New Moon… good book. Finally Bella is starting to form her identity (riding motorcycles, cliff jumping, etc…) Before that she had NO identity, just using people to identify herself, which is not good.
I did like Jacob because his character CHANGED. Edward does not change, so he is a tiny boring. But Jacob’s change tells a lot about testerones, steriods, etc. (I know, I know Jacob did not use steriod, but the werewolves kept getting bigger and bigger and more angry… as bodybuilders and wrestlers do when they use steriods.) So it is nice to read about them in the story, in a way. So you could say that werewolves were symbols of steriods/testerones, huh? But I do know that the werewolves were created to protect humans when the vampires were around. My son tells me that the origins were better explained in the Eclipse novel, and I am waiting for the library to contact me to let me know that the 3rd novel is returned so that I could pick it up…
